You can update apps manually, or you can enable automatic updates on your iPad or iPhone. When you opt for automatic updates, you don’t have to manually update every app.
To update apps manually:
Apps that you download from the App Store on your iPad and iPhone are automatically updated by default. If there is a problem, you can update an app manually.
- Open the App Store.
- Tap your profile symbol at the top of the screen.
- Scroll to see pending updates and release notes.
- Tap ‘Update’ next to an app to update only that app or tap ‘Update All’.
To enable or disable automatic updates:
If you prefer to update your apps manually, disable automatic updates. When you do this, you will receive notifications from the App Store if an update is available for one of your apps.
- Go to ‘Settings’.
- Tap on ‘App Store’.
- Enable or disable ‘Automatic updates’.
